Collagen Induction Therapy, also known as Medical Skin Needling, Micro-Needling or Micropen, is a new minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars on the face and body. The treatment uses tiny needles or micro-needles on a medical-grade device that is moved over the skin to create tiny, evenly spaced puncture wounds on the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen production by generating a wound healing response. The Micropen used is much like a fine tattooing needle which causes minimal trauma when creating the microscopic punctures in the skin. However, topical anesthetic is used to minimize discomfort. By damaging the skin, in a safe way, you encourage the body to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps it thicken and ‘plump up’. The procedure can be performed on the face and body.

Risks and Complications
Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after treatment.
Discontinue use of retinoids, salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide for 1 to 2 weeks before treatment.
Inform Erin if you are taking any blood thinners.
Avoid Botox and fillers for at least 2 weeks before and after microneedling.
Mild redness and swelling for 24–72 hours (similar to a sunburn)
TIPS FOR CLIENTS
Do NOT wash face/scalp/body for 12 hours after application.
ALWAYS use SPF
Must follow post regimen for 3-5 days after treatment.
For BEST results: 2-3 sessions are required spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Maintaince sessions: Every 4-6 months.
